Yesterday, with an attack on a vehicle carrying several residents of Daikundi province who were returning from the pilgrimage to Karbala, fourteen people were martyred and six others were injured.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance, condemning the perpetrators of this bloody and inhumane incident, expresses its condolences to the bereaved families, prays for the peace of the martyrs’ souls, and wishes the injured a swift recovery.
Since Afghanistan was handed over to the Taliban, the killing of innocent people under various pretexts has continued, and alongside this, oppression, injustice, and the spread of hatred have significantly increased. The Taliban’s hostility towards all ethnic groups, especially the Hazaras and followers of Shia Islam, is growing every day, and the recent incident in Daikundi province is a clear indication of the peak of this group’s hatred towards the Hazara people and the Shia community.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan has repeatedly stated that supporting the Taliban group is equivalent to promoting, expanding, and strengthening terrorism, increasing ethnic and religious conflicts, and perpetuating genocide, oppression, and injustice. Therefore, once again, this council calls on the international community to not only cut off financial and political support for the Taliban but also to support the return of democracy, the protection of human rights, and the restoration of national sovereignty through a comprehensive political process based on the will of the people. Otherwise, terrorism will not remain confined to Afghanistan, and its reach will extend to other countries around the world.
