A delegation from the Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, led by Ustad Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq, leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan and head of the Political Committee of the Council; Haji Almas Zahid, head of the Council’s Peace Committee; Khwaja Mahboob Siddiqi, representative of the Jamiat-e-Islami Party; Mawlawi Abdullah Qarluq, deputy leader of the National Islamic Movement Party of Afghanistan; and Habib-ur-Rahman Sayyaf, representative of the Islamic Dawat Party and member of the leadership council of the Supreme Council of Natinal Resistance, has arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold discussions regarding the situation of Afghanistan refugees.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance, while expressing appreciation and gratitude to the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its long-standing hosting of Afghanistan refugees over the past years, has expressed hope that these negotiations will pave the way for greater cooperation and the adoption of appropriate measures to support the refugees.
Under these circumstances, the Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan seeks, through consultations with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to propose practical solutions for the protection of refugees’ rights and the improvement of their conditions.
