The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, in connection with the recent airstrike within the territory of the country, brings the following points to the attention of the people of Afghanistan and the international community:

1. Based on accepted international principles and norms, any violation or aggression against the territorial integrity of countries constitutes a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. No country has the right to infringe upon the territorial sovereignty of another. The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan deems such violations deserving of condemnation and considers the Taliban group directly responsible for these attacks, as this group, through its terrorist approach, has kept the country in a state of insecurity and instability.

2. However, the bitter and undeniable truth is that Afghanistan today lacks legitimate national and international sovereignty. The Taliban’s domination over Kabul is not recognized as legitimate—neither by the people of Afghanistan nor by the international community. A number of the leaders and most members of this group have been accused and convicted of crimes by credible international institutions, including the International Criminal Court, and are listed on the United Nations Security Council’s blacklist, under sanctions and pursuit.

3. The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan has repeatedly warned in the past that the Taliban group, through its terrorist approach, has turned the country into a safe haven for international terrorist organizations. Evidence of this was previously revealed with the killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, in the Wazir Akbar Khan area of Kabul. The recent attack on several leaders of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Afghan soil once again clearly confirms this reality.

4. This incident occurs while Taliban spokespersons have continuously claimed that no terrorist group exists on Afghan soil and that Afghanistan poses no threat to any other country. However, the active presence and sheltering of leaders of terrorist groups—especially Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has repeatedly carried out bloody attacks against civilians, particularly children and school students in Pakistan—shows that Afghanistan remains in a state of deep crisis and instability.

5. The Supreme Council of National Resistance believes that until a fundamental and political solution to the Afghan crisis is sought, the activities of transnational terrorist groups on Afghan soil will continue and remain a serious threat to regional security and stability. Under such circumstances, Afghanistan will not only serve as a refuge for terrorism but also become a source of instability for neighboring and regional countries.

6. The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan once again emphasizes that the solution to the current crisis does not lie in engaging with or legitimizing the tyrannical Taliban group, but in bringing about a fundamental transformation in the structure of governance. This change must come through the will and vote of the Afghan people and through the holding of free, transparent, and democratic elections so that the future political system can coexist with its people based on trust, justice, and national participation—and interact with regional and global countries on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests.
