On the occasion of the arrival of the 2026 Gregorian New Year, we extend our sincere congratulations and best wishes to all the people of the world, to free nations, governments, and human societies that aspire to peace, justice, and peaceful coexistence, and in particular to the suffering yet proud people of Afghanistan, our compatriots inside and outside the country.
The year 2025 was a difficult year for the world—especially for the Middle East and many other regions—marked by crises, bloody conflicts, political instability, humanitarian disasters, and widespread suffering of civilians. The continuation of wars, the spread of violence, increased displacement, and violations of human rights deeply wounded the conscience of humanity and once again highlighted the necessity of collective global efforts toward lasting peace.
In this context, the people of Afghanistan have also continued to face the consequences of the Taliban’s authoritarian actions, profound humanitarian, economic, and social crises, and widespread deprivation of fundamental rights—particularly the rights of women and girls. Nevertheless, the spirit of resistance, hope for the future, and belief in the right to self-determination remain alive and steadfast among our nation.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, while paying tribute to the patience and resilience of the people of the country, once again reaffirms its commitment to a responsible struggle for freedom, social justice, the rule of law, the preservation of human dignity, and the establishment of a system based on the genuine will of the people. We believe that lasting peace—whether in Afghanistan or in the world at large—can only be achieved through inclusive dialogue, an end to the monopoly of power, respect for human rights, and sincere international cooperation.
In the New Year 2026, we hope this year will mark a starting point for the reduction of violence, the end of wars, the healing of human wounds, the strengthening of global solidarity, and a movement toward a world free from extremism, terrorism, and war—a world in which peace, justice, and human dignity become shared and practical values.
With the hope for a year filled with peace, security, health, and tranquility for the people of Afghanistan and all the nations of the world.
