In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan sincerely extends its congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Adha to the Muslim and God-seeking people of Afghanistan and to all Muslims around the world. Eid al-Adha is a manifestation of faith, sacrifice, solidarity, and lofty human values.
The people of Afghanistan are welcoming this great Eid while the heavy shadow of poverty, unemployment, hardship, and despair has spread over the lives of millions of families. Today, the lack of job opportunities, the unprecedented expansion of unemployment among both women and men, and the unbearable economic hardships have taken joy and peace away from many of our fellow citizens’ homes. Heads of families are facing serious difficulties in providing even the most basic necessities of life for their children under extremely difficult and alarming circumstances a situation unworthy of the honorable people of Afghanistan.
At a time when the people of Afghanistan are enduring severe hardship under the heavy pressure of poverty, unemployment, and deprivation, the Taliban group has imposed itself on the destiny of the country through an extremist, monopolistic, and authoritarian approach. Due to its lack of national and popular legitimacy and the absence of accountability, this group has not only failed to control the economic and social crises, but through restrictive and irresponsible policies, it has unprecedentedly expanded the scope of poverty, unemployment, and social suffering. The continuation of this situation has deprived countless Afghan families of hope, peace, and happiness, and has subjected the lives of millions of the country’s citizens to profound humanitarian and livelihood hardships.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan believes that Afghanistan can move toward stability, prosperity, and a brighter future only through justice, freedom, genuine public participation, the preservation of human dignity, and the establishment of a national and accountable system.
We hope that this blessed Eid will mark the beginning of a new chapter of national solidarity, mutual understanding, justice, stability, and a brighter future for Afghanistan a future in which no woman or man in our country will be a victim of poverty, discrimination, unemployment, or deprivation.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, while expressing sympathy with the suffering people of the country, prays to Almighty God for the acceptance of the worship, prayers, and sacrifices of the noble people of Afghanistan.
May Eid al-Adha be blessed for the entire Islamic Ummah throughout the world.
