Iran Cunsil in Dameshq

Diplomatic and consular missions of countries are protected under the 1961 and 1963 Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations. Attacks on diplomatic premises of countries are considered violations of international law and infringements on the independence and national sovereignty of those countries.

The National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan condemns the attack on the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus as contrary to international conventions, and expresses its condolences to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

From our perspective, global peace and security are inextricably linked to respect for the national sovereignty of countries. Violating international laws and adopting an exceptionalist approach in international relations can in no way help resolve the problems of the contemporary human world.
