The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, while expressing gratitude for several decades of generous hospitality and valuable support from the Islamic Republic of Iran toward Afghan refugees, expresses its deep concern over the ongoing forced deportation of Afghan refugees, especially given the critical situation in Afghanistan.
Considering the dire economic, political, and security conditions in Afghanistan, the forced return of refugees under such circumstances could seriously endanger the lives of hundreds of thousands of families, particularly children, women, and vulnerable groups.
The Council, while emphasizing the importance of the brotherly relationship between the noble nations of Iran and Afghanistan, respectfully calls on the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran to take into account the ongoing crisis and insecurity in Afghanistan when shaping migration policies and deciding on the expulsion of Afghan refugees. It also urges Iran to continue its humanitarian and valuable support to Afghan refugees residing in the country.
We firmly believe that the continuation of such cooperation and compassion by the Islamic Republic of Iran is a major step toward upholding human dignity and strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
