شورای عالی مقاومت ملی برای نجات افغانستان

Amid the escalating humanitarian crisis caused by insecurity, structural poverty, and widespread instability in Afghanistan, a new wave of forced migration—especially among vulnerable groups—has flowed toward the borders of neighboring countries. In the face of this, we have witnessed remarkable acts of humanitarianism, national solidarity, and social commitment from businesspeople, philanthropists, volunteer groups, and civil society organizations within Afghanistan’s border regions. These selfless efforts, carried out under difficult circumstances, have eased the suffering of refugees and reflected a profound sense of responsibility toward their distressed fellow citizens.

The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, with utmost respect and gratitude, expresses its deep appreciation for these noble and valuable actions, recognizing them as a clear example of national solidarity in the face of a humanitarian crisis.

The Council also acknowledges the long-standing hospitality of the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran toward Afghan refugees, and calls on the people of Iran—including benefactors, civil society groups, and government institutions—to continue their humanitarian support for Afghan refugees until a clear resolution emerges for Afghanistan’s situation.

This continued assistance is a clear indication of adherence to moral and Islamic principles as well as humanitarian commitments.

The Supreme Council of Resistance urges all international organizations—particularly those such as the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and other relevant institutions with legal and humanitarian responsibilities toward refugees and asylum seekers—to take a more active role in addressing the dire situation of Afghan refugees. This includes demonstrating practical commitment and tangible support, as the current crisis demands urgent collaboration, increased resources, and effective responsiveness.

The Council also calls on the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to understand the fragile and threatening conditions in Afghanistan and to refrain from any forced deportation of Afghan refugees. It urges Iran to adopt a moral and legally grounded approach in line with international law and Islamic customs. Forcibly returning refugees to a country where their lives, property, and human dignity are at risk is not only a violation of international obligations but will also have irreversible social and humanitarian consequences for thousands of families.

Furthermore, the Supreme Council of Resistance once again welcomes the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (The Hague) against a number of Taliban leaders. It calls for the immediate and effective implementation of these warrants by governments and international bodies. The Council believes that ending the culture of impunity and delivering justice for victims is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

Finally, the Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan firmly believes that the Afghan migration crisis can only be managed through regional cooperation, shared responsibility among nations, and an active role by international institutions.

Now is the time for the global community to express its solidarity with the suffering people of Afghanistan—not merely in words, but through concrete actions.
