The Supreme Council of the National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, with deep sorrow and profound regret, extends its condolences over the deaths of a number of innocent Afghanistan citizens at the border of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This painful incident once again reflects the ongoing suffering and the fragile condition of Afghanistan citizens, citizens who, as a result of deep political, economic, and humanitarian crises imposed on the country, are forced to leave their homes and, along unsafe and perilous routes, lose their lives. The deaths of these compatriots constitute a grave loss for the bereaved families and for the collective conscience of the Afghanistan nation.
The Supreme Council of the National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan emphasizes that the continuation of irregular migration by Afghanistan citizens is a direct consequence of the absence of an effective, accountable, and legitimate government in the country. The Council calls on the international community, as well as regional and global countries, to undertake a serious and responsible reassessment of their approaches and policies toward Afghanistan and, through practical support for the formation of an inclusive, lawful, and effective system, to create the conditions for stability, security, and sustainable livelihoods, so that Afghanistan citizens are not compelled to resort to irregular and dangerous migration and their right to live with dignity in their own homeland is ensured.
The Council expresses its deep sympathy with the bereaved families and prays for divine mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, and patience, forbearance, and peace for the survivors.
