With deep sorrow and sympathy, the Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan considers the recent earthquake in the northern regions of the country which caused the loss of lives and injuries among our oppressed compatriots, as well as severe damage to homes and people’s property a painful and shocking tragedy.
This heartbreaking event occurred at a time when the people of Afghanistan are facing one of the most difficult economic and humanitarian situations. The absence of a legitimate and accountable government in the country has seriously hampered the process of aid delivery and crisis management, leaving thousands of affected families in a critical condition and in urgent need of shelter, food, medical services, and emergency humanitarian assistance.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan expresses its deep condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families, prays to Almighty God for mercy and forgiveness for the victims of this tragic event, and wishes a speedy recovery for the wounded.
The Council also calls upon all international organizations, relief agencies, charitable institutions, and friendly nations to, in these difficult moments, fulfill their human and moral responsibilities by rushing to assist the afflicted people of Afghanistan and playing an effective role in delivering emergency humanitarian aid.
The brave and steadfast nation of Afghanistan, relying on its faith, solidarity, and patience, will overcome this bitter trial with dignity and resilience.
