In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
The tenth day of Muharram, the Day of Ashura and the anniversary of the heartbreaking martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his loyal companions, commemorates one of the greatest epics in human history an epic in which freedom, dignity, faith, and resistance against oppression and injustice were demonstrated in the most profound and inspiring manner.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan extends its deepest condolences on this sorrowful yet inspiring occasion to the noble and resilient people of Afghanistan, the families of martyrs, Muslims around the world, and all followers of the path of truth and justice.
The Ashura movement is not merely a historical event; rather, it is an eternal school of thought for all generations and nations seeking freedom, human dignity, and justice. Through the sacrifice of his own life and the devotion of his companions, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) taught humanity that surrendering to oppression and tyranny is never acceptable, and that defending truth and human values requires perseverance, sacrifice, and selflessness.
Today, the people of Afghanistan continue to face severe security challenges, economic hardships, widespread poverty, forced displacement, and numerous social restrictions. These circumstances make it more important than ever to draw inspiration from the message of Ashura a message that calls upon us to stand against injustice, support the oppressed, and strive for the realization of justice and freedom.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, while emphasizing the importance of unity, solidarity, and national responsibility, calls upon Islamic countries, international organizations, and all institutions defending human rights not to leave the people of Afghanistan alone in these difficult circumstances. It urges them to take effective and responsible measures to ensure citizens’ fundamental rights, establish lasting peace, provide nationwide security, and bring an end to the ongoing crises.
We believe that adherence to the noble teachings of Ashura can strengthen solidarity throughout the Islamic world and promote the spirit of brotherhood and the pursuit of justice. We hope that our beloved Afghanistan will overcome suffering, violence, and instability and witness the dawn of days filled with peace, justice, tranquility, and prosperity for all its citizens.
